Dear Friends,
Our Merritt Island High School Class of 1980 30 year Reunion will be held the weekend of June 11 and 12, 2010. It is hard to believe that it is less than 4 months away! We have been busy trying to track down our classmates. We have found almost 200 from our class of 652 and we have tentative Reunion rsvps for almost 150 people. Now that we have the Reunion details confirmed, we are going to be stepping up our efforts to find our âlostâ classmates. If you are interested in helping us, please let us know!
It is also time for us to ask for a financial commitment from those of you who plan on attending the Saturday night party. In order to keep the costs for the evening as low as possible, we have chosen to produce this Reunion on our own. Because of this, we must ask for your RSVP a bit earlier than if we had a Reunion Company taking care of the financial obligations for us. Below you will find a summary of the costs and due dates. You will see a big difference in cost based on when you make your payment. This is because we can not make our final plans without knowing how many of you will actually be attending. You will also find a description of our Refund Policy if you have to cancel and have chosen to pay in advance.
The Saturday party will be a Dinner/Dance at the Doubletree Hotel-Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach from 6 pm - midnight. We will enjoy a buffet dinner together and will have a DJ to host the party for good dancing opportunities. There will be a cash bar and we also plan on having a Memory Table and a Slide Show so we can take some fun trips down âMemory Laneâ.
Party Costs:
⢠$65 per person if your payment is received by March 7, 2010
⢠$80 per person if your payment is received after March 7, 2010
⢠Discounted rates may be available if the cost to attend the party is financially prohibitive for you. Please let us know if this is the case as soon as possible.

Refund Policy:
⢠50% refund if cancelled before April 15, 2010
⢠25% refund if cancelled before May 15, 2010
⢠0% refund if cancelled after May 15, 2010 (or at the discretion of the Reunion Committee based on available funds)
Additional Information:
⢠Friday night will be a Meet & Greet Open House at Beef O'Bradys in Merritt Island from 7 - 11 pm.
⢠We are working on a tour of the newly refurbished Merritt Island High School for Saturday morning, followed by a Family Event for the afternoon, such as a beach gathering, poolside party or picnic.
⢠If you would like to stay with us at the Doubletree Hotel-Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach, we have negotiated a discounted room rate for both Friday & Saturday nights ($119 per night for the Standard Room). They are holding a room block for us at this rate through May 14, 2010. You must make your own reservations by calling the hotel at 321-783-9222 or 800-552-3224. Please call now to reserve your room. There is no risk to you as there is a 48 hour cancellation policy. Also, if you reserve now, parking is complimentary.
